The importance of Asian College of OsteopathIC MEDICINE

Osteopathy may be new to India and other Asian countries but its root date back to 1872. Dr. A. T. Still, a physician practicing in the USA believed that the human body was created as perfect, harmonious whole and contained the basic necessities for its own healing. He developed a system for enhancing the immune system naturally without the use of addictive and tonic drugs. Surgery was used by him very scarcely. From USA, osteopathy travelled to Australia in 1908. In Britain, many institutions like British School of Osteopathy founded by Maria Little John in 1917, the European School of Osteopathy, London College of Osteopathy are recognized globally as leading osteopathic institutions graduating forward thinking and highly qualified osteopaths. Institution such as these took the lead to train osteopaths and popularize it. Large scale researches were taken by these centres involving both qualitative and quantitative method and diverse aspects of osteopathic care and its underlying philosophy.
